How it Works

Please visit The Wedding Couple for wedding information.

Booking your portrait session

Please schedule your session as soon as possible to ensure that you can obtain the date that you prefer. Because my husband Adrian and I are also wedding photographers, weekend portrait dates cannot be reserved until two weeks prior to your preferred date. However, weekday sessions can usually be scheduled at any time. I will take weekday session appointments up to four weeks in advance.

The best time for location sessons is September to April, as I am often kept busy with weddings during the summer months. If you would like to schedule a summer portrait session, please allow a weekday and consider a location where we can all stay cool so that you can look your best!

Please review all information below prior to booking your session so that you are thoroughly aware of all studio policies.

What does the creative fee pay for?

The creative fee pays for my time and talent both at the shoot and in the editing room as well as your your online gallery and web-ready images.

Where do sessions take place?

Since "the world is my studio," sessions can take place anywhere you want in the Broward, Palm Beach, or Miami-Dade County areas. I shoot all on location and I don't use backdrops. Some popular ideas are your home, the beach, a park, an urban/industrial area (train tracks are VERY popular), or any other favorite place.

What should we wear?

The best rule of thumb is to wear something that a) is comfortable and not constricting, and b) shows off your personality! I embrace bright colors and crazy patterns for both children & adults. Textures, layers, and funky clothes will bring so much life to your photographs especially if your clothes really express you. This especially complements children's bubbly personalities, so don't be scared of color! For babies, choose something comfortable - even a cute simple onesie or nothing at all is lovely.

As far as family portraits, if you're wearing different colors, make sure that they match! There's no need to dress alike in khakis and jeans and white shirts (how boring that can be!), but staying within the same color range is a good idea.

As for what NOT to wear -- anything that shows off brands or logos, anything that's too tight or constricting, or clothes that are just too casual. If you're confused, just ask, and you can always bring a few changes of clothing on the shoot to get some different looks!

What if I am going to be late or have to cancel?

I'll give you my cell phone number when we make your reservation, so please call me on my cell phone as soon as you possibly can if you must cancel or if you'll be late! I know that things can come up all the time, especially with kids, so I offer one free rescheduling. If it happens a second time, though, I unfortunately will need to charge a small rescheduling fee.

I'm afraid my kids won't smile during the photo shoot. What should I do?

As much as you may want to help direct your children during the photo shoot, I kindly ask that parents refrain from intervening. The best photographs are taken when your child is acting naturally, so instructing him or her to pose or smile for the camera will not give you the best results. If your child is older - a preteen or teenager, you may even want to go take a walk or read a magazine, as kids this age can often feel embarrassed or uncomfortable when having to "perform" in front of their parents!

When is the best time for a maternity session?

I prefer to do maternity sessions in the last month or two of pregnancy, when your tummy looks its fullest!

When should I schedule my newborn session?

As soon as possible!!! It's best to do newborn sessions in the first week or two of birth, so feel free to schedule your session before your due date. If your due date changes, it's not a problem. I will accomodate your baby's arrival and adjust the session date accordingly. Little ones grow up so fast, so you may want to schedule a baby plan to have photos taken at newborn, six months, and one year to catch your cutie in all of his or her adorable stages of the first year of life!

How do we make our purchases? When will orders be ready?

Your images will be ready for viewing in a few days and will be available on your private online gallery where you can view, share, and, order prints. Complete orders which are placed and paid for within two weeks will also receive a product credit for any of our prints, albums, or other items.

Most print orders are ready within 4-6 weeks, and rush orders can be placed for an additional $150. Album purchases will be ready 4-6 weeks after the final album design is approved. You may either schedule an appointment to pick your order up, or we can arrange to ship it to you.

Is there a minimum product investment?

There is no minimum investment, but most of our clients typically spend between $400 to $800 in addition to the creative fee on prints and other products, like custom cards, albums, and canvas wraps... so we would appreciate it if you booked your session with that average in mind.

Portraiture can be a timeless investment for you and your family. We would be happy to invite you to our office to view your photos together and discuss your printing options.

Are the high resolution files available for purchase?

High resolution, printable, non-watermarked files are available on DVD for $900, or will be provided for free with a print order of the same amount.
